Bill’s Professional Journey

Bill Stark began his career in the wireless industry, serving in leadership roles at AT&T and Verizon throughout the 1980s and 1990s. In 2000, he became a partner in an early online learning company, a move that shifted his focus toward helping others grow through training, strategic planning, and consulting. That passion ultimately led him to co-found LeaderGov, where since 2012 he and his team have worked with thousands of local governments across the U.S., helping leaders grow stronger teams through training services and craft clearer visions for their communities.

 A Deepening Faith Journey

Bill gave his life to Christ at the age of 14 in his hometown Baptist church in Greenville, Mississippi. Like many, he drifted from his faith in his early adult years, but his heart was reawakened through a powerful and personal encounter with Jesus at a Souly Business men’s retreat in 2005. That moment became a turning point. From 2004 to 2010, he served as a small group leader at NorthPoint Community Church, and since 2009, he’s served men at over forty Souly Business men’s retreats. Most recently, he served as the organization’s Chapter Training Coordinator. Bill is also on the Board of Directors of Whisper, a student-led nonprofit tackling youth isolation, and he serves on the prayer team for Intentional Marriage, a ministry for couples in ministry.

The Compelling Pull to Writing

Bill is a journalism major from the University of Mississippi, but his love for writing was rekindled in the early 2000s when he started writing a personal blog for his children.   This sparked something deep inside him to express love and care through words and it brought smiles to his kids. Around 2015 his reflections turned poetic, leading to the 2024 self-publication of his first devotional book, Divine Intersections. His writing style is heartfelt, honest, and grounded in real life—qualities that help others connect with God in a deeply personal way. Today, he’s actively working on three writing projects and recently launched VerticalLife.org, a devotional ministry and nonprofit dedicated to helping people grow closer to God in their everyday lives.

Family and Fun

Bill and his wife Starwyn have been married 37 years and live in Alpharetta, Georgia. They are parents to three grown children and enjoy loving on their grandson. Bill attends and volunteers at The Parish, an Anglican church in Alpharetta. He enjoys golfing, writing, sailing, gardening, spending time outdoors, and cherishing every moment with his family.
