Back in the 1990s I began writing postcards to my kids while on business trips….to encourage them and inspire them and tell them I loved them. That eventually evolved into this blog, writing and poetry.

While I’ve always enjoyed writing, something happened in 2021 that changed my attitude toward life (and God!). I was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. Through God’s provision and care, I survived and am now thriving. :)

However, during that time I experienced the profound love of God in a deeply tangible and personal way. The experience intensified my purpose to share the redemptive power of Christ’s love to everyone in my domain. Vertical Life and the focus on writing books, blogs and recording podcasts is all a result of that beautiful time in my life.

You may notice that in my writing, I try to engage the heart and soul of my readers so they connect to God and His love in a personal way. My writing has a vulnerable and reflective style that hopefully provides space and time for readers to contemplate how God might want to intersect deeply with them.
