My Soul's Reprieve

If you struggle with depression, guilt, loneliness, shame, sin, emptiness, sorrow....or if you sense that there are corners of your heart that are not aligned to the Maker....lift this prayer to God above.My Soul's ReprieveMy heavy heart, oh tired and grayits weight I surely feellonging for a fairer daywhen buds to blossom deal.~Then from above a tear appearsand bits of light burst forth,dark corners sigh and burden wanesoh hint of life and birth.~Then from above a jewel appearedit's corners sharp as glassand as the light crept up its sidethe darkness began to pass.~Now the air is clear and lightwhere once was dark and brownwhere days were dull and ever lownow life and joy abound...as though I wore a King's own crown.~Yet still there are more corners hidwhere shadows do residemy days again grow long and tiredbut I no longer hide.~So come and shake my changing heartoh light do come againyes, cast aside the dreary partsfor this great work I cannot dofor I am weak and cannot seethe way a heart molds to You.~Yes You can make a way to clearthe tangles that I weaveYou alone are able togive my soul its sweet reprieve.--------------------------Psalm 25: 16 - 21 (NIV) 16Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. 17 Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. 18 Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. 19 See how numerous are my enemies  and how fiercely they hate me! 20 Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. 21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, LORD, is in you.
