Advent Candle of Hope

A poem for Advent

The sun long hid its light from me

A ray of hope, my lasting plea

Waiting for a better state

The place I'm, I all but hate.

~

What is my hope when all else fails?

Where is the wind to fill my sails?

Oh to hold on one more day

For steady faith when all else sways

~

And while I wait on bended knee

My sight improved, I start to see

Please show me what's beyond my bow

Change me, hold me, lead me now

~

To plant a seed in frozen ground

Where light is blocked and so is sound

Waiting for some future state

Please grow my faith here while I wait

~

My only Hope I lean on now

No longer do I push my plow

New Hope gave birth inside of me

And shed new light for all to see.
