A Glorious Birth

Christmas is officially over, but I couldn’t shake a final thought about the season. I pray that this Christmas and all of them are reminders of the true reason for the season.

WHAT GIVE TO THEE

What do I have to give to Thee?

Perhaps it's just my bended knee

A simple bow to You alone

Silent now before Your throne

My works are good, you can agree

If they flow from life with Thee.

I cannot earn Your boundless love;

It falls so free from Thee above.

So as I kneel at manger's edge

It is to You I solely pledge

My trust rests in a newborn's cry

And lifts me from my dearth to fly

At Christmas time we celebrate

All the things that are so great

Food and gadgets to fulfill

Yet God gives more than earthly thrill

A Holy love not from the earth

But freely given, this glorious birth.
