A Misty Veil
You may have had times in your life where things seem dull, lifeless, and gray. Perhaps you’ve not tried to connect with God and you feel isolated and sullen. Then, we try logic and willpower to make a go of our day, yet we still feel out of sync, restless and empty.
God wants more for us than that kind of life. I pray this poem can relates to you in some way and that is might offer the hope of a new touch from God.
A MISTY VEIL
A misty veil hung over me
My shrouded soul, now less I see
And hence my world is cloudy too
All its colors lost their hue
~
A loss of grace, my heart now frowns
No wonder why my soul was down
Life was empty, wanting more
Could God be real, or is it lore?
~
Then from God I realized
Now it was my time to rise
To turn to Him and seek His hand
To wander from my no man's land
~
Confessing of my need for Him
I prayed for real, not on a whim
A loving gaze poured out of Him
My heart now full above the brim!
~
This logic I've depended on
Left me weary—hope withdrawn
I see a truer side of life
Like the love of man and wife
Where kinship, grace, and peace surround
And there my sanity is found
